healthy tips
*Instead of pan-frying food in oil, just spray the bottom of a non-stick pan with oil. This reduces the amount of fat significantly.
*If you want to add flavour, without increasing the salt content, add fresh or dried herbs or spices to your food.
*For a great healthy snack, why not try sprinkling some sliced potatoes with ground cumin, coriander and parpika and bake until crunchy. Serve with natural yoghurt.
*Start your kids on soft grain bread early in life, that way they’ll never know the difference!
cooking tips
*If you have any left over bolognaise or other savoury type minces, place on some turkish bread and toast for a delicious sandwich.
*Sprinkle a small amount of brown sugar over some fresh fruit, leave for 5 minutes and serve with yogurt or ice-cream for a quick and easy desert for the kids. (Bananas, strawberries and oranges are fantastic this way!)
produce tips
*My favourite ready to eat apples are Pink lady. They areĀ sweet and delicious for kids and adults!
*For cooking, Granny Smith apples are fantastic.
